How It Works
JUST THE BASICS
AND A FEW DETAILS
WE'LL CONTACT YOU
When should I move?
If there is an option, most moving companies suggest that you move during the spring, fall or winter. If you need to move during peak times such as summer, end of month and holidays, it is a good idea to schedule your move more than a month ahead of time.
Do I need an estimate?
We offer complimentary in-home estimates that are competitively and fairly priced.
How and when should I pay?
How and when should I pay?
How long does it take to move?
This depends on many factors, such as the time of year, weather conditions, size of your shipment, time required to load and unload, and the direction and distance your shipment is traveling.
What is the binding estimate?
A binding estimate specifies in advance the precise cost of the move based on the services requested or deemed necessary at the time of the estimate.
Will my moving services be interrupted due to COVID-19?
How are you keeping your customers and movers safe during this time?
Avoiding large social gatherings of 10 or more people
Following hand-washing protocols, techniques, and prevention methods
Providing gloves to all movers to avoid physical contact
Instructing any employee showing symptoms of illness (whether related to COVID-19 or otherwise) to stay home
Cleaning and disinfecting all moving equipment prior to each job
Are there any precautions I should be taking during my move?
We ask that our customers follow the basic protocols related to social-distancing during their move, including:
- Maintaining 4- to 6-foot distance from movers and drivers while they work
- Refrain from any participation in the move
- Cleaning and disinfecting any furniture that is being moved prior to our team’s arrival
- Disinfecting items that have been padded and wrapped once they’re unwrapped
- Disposing of all packaging material (or let our team dispose of these items) once the move is complete
What will you do if a customer or worker indicates that they were infected?
If a member of our team or one of our customers indicates that they have been infected, we will cooperate with the relevant government agency to provide notification to any individuals who may have been exposed. We will continue to be vigilant in monitoring the situation, taking action as needed.
Can I reschedule my move if I’m feeling ill?
Absolutely, please do! While we navigate these unprecedented times, we want to continue making your upcoming move as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. If you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, shortness of breath, or a dry cough, let our team know as soon as possible and we will work with you to reschedule your move accordingly.Likewise, we are waiving all cancellation and rescheduling fees during this time to allow for the utmost safety for our customers and team members
Can I pack my clothes in a chest or dresser drawers?
Lightweight clothing – sweaters, shirts, blouses, etc. – may be left in the drawers. Do not fill drawers with heavy items such as books, table linens or sheets, which can damage the piece of furniture during transit. Be careful NOT to leave fragile items, money, jewelry, watches or other valuables in the drawers, as well as anything that might spill or leak.
Am I protected against loss or damage while my goods are in transit?
Yes, but how much protection you have and its cost to you depend upon the “valuation” program you choose Full-Value Coverage or Released Rate Liability (60 cents per pound per article.
